How is the course delivered?

Training is delivered via face-to-face classroom session with pre-course learning.

Course Duration: This course is designed to be completed in 2 days.

Expected Study Hours: Typical learners are expected to spend up to 8 hours of study depending on existing knowledge, skills, and experience.

What will you learn?

This course is designed to develop your expertise in applying environmentally sustainable work practices in the resources and infrastructure industries. Among others, you will learn to:

    • Identify current resource usage practices
    • Identify and communicate sustainable improvements
    • Apply improvement strategies
    • Monitor performance

 


How is the course structured?

All learners will be assessed through observation during on-the-job or role play simulation, and questioning that may include self-assessment, verbal answers, written questionnaires, activity modules or interview.

 


What are the entry requirements?

There are no prerequisites to enter the course. However, Carroll Training Services requires that students be between the ages  of 17 and 75 years old.

 


What are the resources needed to complete the course?

To support you in your new course with Carroll Training Services, we will provide the following:

    • RIIENV302E learning and assessment suite, which is made available in hard copy and through student portal and includes:

      • site regulations, requirements, and procedures

To complete your course, you will need ongoing access to the following:

    • Computer/laptop with relevant software such as, but not limited to, the following:
      • internet access preferably through Google Chrome
      • MS Word and PowerPoint
      • Adobe Acrobat Reader
    • Personal protective equipment (PPE) including:
      • Long sleeved shirt
      • Long pants
      • Steel capped or closed toe safety boots

What are the Qualification Pathways?

Students who complete this course may choose to pursue further studies in a range of qualifications, such as:

  • RII30420 Certificate III in Resource Processing
  • RII30320 Certificate III in Underground Metalliferous Mining*

*This qualification is not offered by Carroll Training Services. 

 


Is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) available?

RPL is not applicable to this unit. The Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulation 2017, section 84, requires that each coal mine worker at the mine, including each worker holding a senior management or supervisory position and each worker holding a certificate of competency, is given refresher training under the mine training scheme at least once in every five (5) years.
